HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — Anna Nicole Smith, the pneumatic blonde whose life played out as an extraordinary tabloid tale — Playboy centerfold, jeans model, bride of an octogenarian oil tycoon, reality-show subject, tragic mother — died Thursday after collapsing at a hotel. She was 39.

She was stricken while staying at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and was rushed to a hospital. Edwina Johnson, chief investigator for the Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office, said the cause of death was under investigation and an autopsy would be done on Friday.

Wallop, the social networking startup that was spun out of Microsoft Research Labs earlier this year, has landed $10 million in venture capital that it will use to create a new competitor to MySpace, Friendster and Facebook.

Investors in the San Francisco company, which is presenting at the DEMOfall conference in San Diego this week, include Norwest Venture Partners, Bay Partners and Consor Capital. Microsoft also retains an equity stake in the company, which is led by former Microsoft Corp. employees Karl Jacob and Sean Kelly.

A Florida teacher is caught up in a flap about posing for photos as part of the “national bikini team” when she was in college.

Fran Giblin, principal of West Boca Raton High School, said a
parent complained about photos of Erica Chevillar posted on the Web
site of the USA National Bikini Team, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel
reported. The photos are provocative and show Chevillar wearing
revealing outfits, including a bikini.

The site identifies her using a different last name.

Giblin said the incident was turned over to the school district’s professional standards department.

For years, Bob Witkowski took calls from a company office in Lewiston, working 12- and 13-hour days six and seven days a week — even after his children were born.Then he received a wake-up call he will never forget.

Done.” But I loved her so completely and so profoundly, that I really didn’t want to leave her. Plus, she was really high-needs and I had spent the last year learning her cues and I felt that only I knew exactly how to comfort her. Would a babysitter really be able to do that?

So I set out to figure out what home based business opportunities were out there. First I told my employer that I wouldn’t be coming back, but offered to work for him from home. He seemed mildly interested. So I asked for $30 an hour. I never heard back from him. So I took that as a “No”. Ha ha!
